Honestly, you've almost got to admire them. We just have to stuff them at Christmas!

Which Christmas is that?

He had a super game at fb on Friday night. Casey has excelled in every challenge he has faced to date in his career. He's a good scrummager and hooked on his own ball, extremely accurate out of touch, a good ball carrier and excellent at pick n go around the fringes.i thought best struggled on Saturday and cronin for all his athletic talent is a technically poor hooked imo. If casey got a chance I don't think he would be found wanting.

Casey has done better than anyone could have expected really but a bit early to be talking about an Irish call up. One to watch though. I'd have him a distant 4th choice at the moment but one injury could see him move into the top 3 which in theory would get him a slot at the world cup.

Payne will be back in the centre. You'd wonder how much more Darcy can give. I'm afraid it'd take a minor miracle for J.J. Hanrahan to be near the squad. I'd say its more far fetched at this stage than 12 months ago as he doesn't seem to have pushed on.

Ya, Henshaw isnt afraid to mix it and get in the face of other players. Nice to see the bite in him. No doubt there will be days when he gets bitten but thats for another day.
Really great to have someone of his size that wants to throw himself about. That and him being a fine footballer makes him the next great hope.
Its great to watch him playing for Ireland.

With the plethora of ex-munster players in the media it would not suprise me in the slightest if we start to hear the hype over munster players to get into the 6N and WC. I feel sorry for Ulster players who have very little represenation in the media and the IRFU for that matter compared with Munster and Leinster. Fortunetly we have a completely unbiased Coach who won't get sucked into the clamour for picking players

No we've to negociate for that game, too much crucial.. No difference if he's rested the week after..

If there were some sort of injury crisis Connacht might have a leg to stand on but that's not the case. He will be rested for the good of Ireland after the 80 minutes he put in today and that is the difference. After a full game at the highest level a rest next week will do him more good than playing against the Scarlets and then resting the next week. Also when you bring in players like Mils and Bundee they are there in part to make up for call ups. Obviously the team would be better with Henshaw in it, but the backline that played against Zebre should be able to do the job against the Scarlets.

I've heard he's going to be allowed to start against Scarlets and rested for one or both of Bayonne games.

Glad to read this, not only because I'm right, but above all because I think it's highly logical. We can't be happy with a backline which only "should" do the job, we have to be full-strenghed, the game will already be difficult enough..... Henshaw+AhYou can make a 50/50 become a 55/45. That's invaluable

remember he didn't play in the previous game, i'd be suprised if he is rested for the Scarlets game as it's a bit of double pointer for us if we beat them. Scarlets wer'ent badly affected by the international games, i noticed they had a healthy number of their 1st teamers playing against Glasgow. It's a tough one to call but we're in good enough shape with options in most positions.

this guy took another dimension with Schmidt, will be needed for the Scarlets game(s)

Another very solid performance by Henshaw, loved his chutzpah when he had a bit of a Barney with Ashley-Cooper chasing Murray's kick through.
A-C running his mouth and Robbie looking cool and smiling right back at him.

Excellent stuff. After a flying start, we played into Australia's hands a bit with some loose helter-skelter play and we were lucky to be level at half time but second half we got back to basics and with ball in hand Australia didn't threaten hugely.

Immense achievement to achieve two wins over two of the three big guns. 1 defeat from 10 in 2014.

The most important thing for me came with Paul O'Connell's interview after the game where he said we are going back to our provinces now unfortunately, he didn't mean it as a sleight to Munster or anything like it but what it said is that everyone is on the one wavelength which is great to see after the last few years of the Leinster/Munster small town stuff.

Provincial rivalry is fantastic but Ireland is the main show in town and Schmidt now has everyone signing from the one hymn sheet.

Looking at the injury list it is quite significant, get those lads back and we'll be in good shape.
