In fairness to Boss he was much better than Marmion for the Wolfhounds.

No White either so hopefully we'll only be missing Robbie (and the injured players obviously) against Scarlets.

when he came on, did McKeon play 7 or 8?

Around the 50min mark for O'Brien was hunkering down at 7 in the scrum.

The standouts in the game for me were Ryan, Henderson, Diack and Conway. Henderson looks the business and was one of the reasons why the English line-out failed miserably last night. Ryan did a fantastic job nullifying Burges from the game and generally getting himself around the park. Diack made a major impact when he came on and McCarthy should be worried if he isn't injured. As for Conway it was his first game at this level and he showed that he is well up to the pace. I can imagine him in the international squads going forward after the RWC.

Big disappointment were Leinster players in pivotal positions, Conan and Madigan.

Earls at centre, less said....

Useful minutes for a bunch of players lacking match fitness I suppose...

I agree it was a very poor game but don't think Marmion will get too much flak he got no protection at all and Schmidt will be aware of this. Good to see Eoin McKeon doing well when he came on and White did ok too. I think the more senior players tonight may have been trying too hard to prove their cases for next week and we ended up with the shambles we got.

Obviously not your run of the mill "A" game, only three uncapped players in the squad. A good performance might not guarantee you a place in the senior squad but put in a poor one and you're behind the 8 ball not only for the 6 Nations but for the RWC.

Great to see 3 Connacht men in the squad. Hadn't realised that McKeown was in camp.

Delighted for McKeon, hope he gets a decent run out. I reckon he's our most improved young player so far this season.
