this saturday Millennium Stadium in cardiff host a doubleheader, dragons vs scarlets and cardiff vs ospreys. i have know idea how ill do attendance records for that.

i guess if there is 40,000, maybe it will be split in half for the 2 home teams, dragons and cardiff? 20,000 each. dont know i guess

The above figures are for rabo/magners games only. Interesting that Munsters numbers are dropping for last 3 years. They are "handicapped" by 4 games in Musgrave Park each year but this is nothing new.

They operate in a city and sporting environment which is football mad and totally dominated by the global brands that are celtic and rangers. They are doing ok considering they get no support from tv up there. Games are only covered by bbc alba and not with any great frequency. Hard to grow a brand in that environment. They will need a good Hec run to go with league form to jump to next level support wise.
I thought scotstoun looked decent and had good atmosphere few times i saw it on telly.

On that note i came across the rugbyground guide last night. There are no photos of the sportsground if anyone has any to submit. Decent site and good info there already.

ya not great number going to glasgow games even when there top. this year there average is 3,730 thats down from end of last season at 4,019 when they finished 4th on the table.
there biggest crowd was 6,000 vs edinburgh which i guess is the max.
the only other fixture that came close to that was 5,613 vs ulster with no other games going over 4,000.
maybe the interest is simply not there.

I think the new stadium helps a lot as well as the results of course. I think it was Fourdogs? who wasn't impressed with it but compared to the former stadium it's a big step up.

Surprised a little by the Glasgow number considering their position in the table. I see they got 5,600 for the Ulster game so maybe that will be the trend from here on out with Munster and the Ospreys still to come to Scotstoun. I'd like to think Connacht would avg at least 7k if they were reaching such heady heights.
