Ain't that the truth. Cardiff clearly view us as boxoffice poison, last season they got 11000 against us... by giving away tickets for a fiver and roping in classloads of schoolkids. Wonder what their gimmick will be next year.

It's no surprise we're not a draw: we're not a glamour side, and teams don't get to spank us out the gate like they used to so there isn't even the prospect of an tryfest a la Aironi.

If you look at each teams home record and compare it to their attendance when we visited we don't stack up very well.

The attendances at Blues, Dragons and Munster were the only games where we have beaten the average for visiting teams.

Even ignoring the Leinster v Munster attendance, Leinster are averaging 16089, but Leinster v Connacht was 15220.

Edinburgh v Connacht was half of Edinburgh's average attendance.

More Ulster fans turned up for the visit of Aironi than Connacht!

Now, obviously this has a lot to do with what time of year the game is on etc. but it's also clear we're not a big draw. Cardiff fans were probably more interested in going to the Arms Park than they were in the opposition, so even that positive stat is skewed.

We need to raise our profile in the eyes of opposing fans.
