if there is a personal situation, then i wish him the very best for his family and him.

P.S. Is anyone else kinda p*ssed off with the timing of the announcement? I mean couldn't this have waited until tomorrow or Monday? Rather than a few hours before game time?
Either it was an ongoing problem and didn't come as a surprise, or it was a shock incident and Connacht preferred to get their story out ahead of any rumours. Either way I think its better they made the announcement, especially as he wouldn't have featured in this game anyways.
Personally I'd be a bit more annoyed about the Griffin rumour, it was about this time last year that it was announced McCarthy was going to Leinster.

Would be wise to fill the 400K hole, except if there are more injuries without comebacks

better than blowing the cash on someone for 6 months.
now if someone comes up on long term potential, that is a different story, bt doubt it.

Seamus as an international must of been on €150-€180k a year? with 3 months out of 12 gone, we should have around €135k left to give JOC for 6month contract.
Unless the accountants will be looking for it back to plug the 450K hole.
Lots of decent ITM and Currie cup players finished this weekend. Most wont be getting Super rugby contracts.
Maybe we should be looking for an out of contract backs/skills coach. No sign of Dave Ellis yet.

Tbh at this point in the season we'd be better off trying to develop the likes of Leader who's already on the bench for the game tonight than looking for a like for like replacement.
Would still take James O Connor though!!
As long as we could keep him away from the nightlife
I think he's been signed up by London Irish no?
Just rumours, they're the favourites
That suggests to me that the big spending French clubs won't touch him though. And London Irish I doubt would be in a position to offer him any sort of big contract.
And we have Heineken Cup rugby and they don't.
Just a thought!
“It was the toughest decision I’ve ever made,” he told local media. “I’ve spent the last month or so at home on the Gold Coast with my family and friends and have done some soul searching. I’ve just realised that I need to get away from everything and be my own man.
“I’ve got a lot of support structures here that it’s easy for me to rely on so going over there will be a fresh start.”
I guess he was thinking england cause with only 4teams in ireland, all had there NIQ filled up until today. where will he getter tougher rugby then playing with Connacht, 2 big games vs Toulouse and 1 vs Saracens for him to prove himself.“If I was chasing money it’s a lot more lucrative in Japan and France,” he said. “England’s going to be tough rugby and it’s going to be good for me off the field.

Sick note
And can't cover the backline like So'oialo or O Connor
O Connor can cover the whole backline bar 9. And having someone else who can cover 10 could be needed with Miah gone for most of the season. That being said, I'd be playing him in the centre or 15
