Ah crap, I thought we replaced Faloon with Buckley. Oh well.

Not much chance of landing Tuqiri if we can't tempt him with Heineken cup rugby

3.5 Each club may register up to two additional players during the pool stage, each to replace a player previously registered. If a club registers two additional players, one such player must be a front row player. Additional players must have a three-month contract with the club and must not have played for another club in the tournament. Additional player registrations must be submitted by 12 noon (GMT) on the Tuesday before the match. De-registered players may be re-registered (in place of the relevant additional players) during the pool stage.

I've just double checked, Tuqiri didn't line out for Leinster in the competition.

We already replaced Faloon with So'oilao before round 1.

Therefore we can't register Tuqiri, as our second change has to be a front row forward. Our only unregistered senior front row forward is Buckley, so that's our option in terms of changing the squad.

Didn't we already use up our joker with Buckley for Faloon? Do you get more than one?

That's why I mentioned Fritz Lee in an earlier post. If we got a good finish up in the Heineken Cup we could attract some.

Would that with Clarke being Chiefs captain might get us in contact with 1 or 2 of his former teammates

With our form though, I doubt they'd go near us

I can't recall the game last year but Kearney ran over about three players carrying ball in the opponents half. I really like him and as u say he is so young. Would love to see him on more. I suppose Swifty being invincible is not helping lol

Have never seen him play but he would come cheap and should have learned a bit there.

That's why I suggested him. He was playing really well at Rotherham. Tigers are premiership champs after all.

Kearney got a start this weekend yes its late but hopefully it continues. With Swift one of the captains (and the one named match day captain the most) and clark the new big signing it was inevitable that they'd play a lot more at the start at least, and muldowney as a new signing got the nod for the bench maybe as a reward for signing but also perhaps sparking some competition in the minds of kearney and browne. Just guessing of course but its not impossible.

Ronaldson and Carty definitely need more gametime from now on, games like Dragons and Zebre home in the heineken should see them named 10 and 22 imo.

Outside of 9/10 we're fairly sorted for backs atm I'd be ok if we didn't make any signings for wing/centre if it meant the academy guys get their chance.

(eta: its also worth noting that kearney is still ridiculously young - 22 until march - so if they manage him well, add the necessary bulk for lock, and maintain his interest in connacht then he could be an option for over 10 years).

Hayes at Aureliac probably spelled it wrong left munster for game time sureley he should be on our radar.
Cant see why Mick Kearney is not getting a look in at all.
Ronaldson and Carthy need to be getting a lot more game time so if were not looking to go big with a 10.

I hope whoever uncovered Pooleman can repeat the magic again.

Caldwell will end up back at Ulster to replace Muller I think

With Bath til summer 2015 in any case.

We should be looking at more realistic targets to challenge next years starting locks (Clarke and Kearney presumably) e.g. at lock where Munster have POC/Ryan/Dontcha and Ulster have Muller/Touhy/Henderson we could look at stevenson, McComb or Holland.

That said Stevenson is on a longish contract I think, and McComb and Holland bleed white and red respectively and might rather back-up roles at their home province.

Not easy is it eh?

Wouldn't mind seeing Ben Marshall from Leinster coming this way he is a handy second rower but doesn't seem to have gotten many chances. He was a little lightweight in the past but as he hasn't been playing for the senior team much he's probably been bulking up in the interim. The only problem is all our second rows are about the same size and afaik I don't think there's anyone in the academy coming through who's over 6'6''. I heard that there is 'some foreign lad' who is 6'11'' at the school Buckley went to (the name of the school escapes me atm).

Andress is an average Aviva Th. I don't know if he can play LH.
I don't see real going back to Munster in short term. Not without making an impression with Connacht. That's why he is at SG after all
Hayes or Flanagan who both are playing pro d2 this season are realistic 2nd row options IMO.
Noone at tigers is an option at 8. Good player not getting much of a chance there AFAIK.
10 Connacht are looking at Ian humphries or a player of his level or lower. This season won't help.
