The announcement on Connacht's website says he played 4 times in the pro12 this season, and also started against the Maori All Blacks. Not sure why he wasn't capped before this season though.

I agree though, less excited about this than I would (hopefully will?) be about Coulson. The fact that it's a one year deal suggests to me that they're taking a punt on him, but then Carey was similar so who knows?

Good to add depth to a weak position, really hope we have bring in another loosehead though. Buckley, AN Other, McCabe, with Bealham, Carey and McCoy on the other side and Cooney covering both, and a few lads to hopefully push through from the academy, should do nicely.

We have greater areas of concern but this looks like a good squad signing. He hasn't broken through at Sale but still for a player of 22 he has built up decent experience. You just have to look at the other provinces to see there isn't huge depth at scrum half. With Kieran Marmion likely to miss a good chunk of games between post summer, November and 6 nations the competition for places and depth is useful.

If he could sneak AJ on with his hand luggage that would be great.

Great signing IMO.
