Must have been watching a different Connacht team all of last season at the Sprotsground if people don't think we really are poor at 10. Boshoff? Sicknote? I can't even judge if he's a player or not based upon last season and rumours of him going don't exactly fill me dread if we have a plan to get someone in...........

If we have any hope of keeping Bundee after his contract is up Connacht are going to have to show vast improvement this season and IMO that will require an upgrade at 10. Jack is 25 when next season starts, still young but not very young and the progress he has made so far wouldn't indicate that he's going to make that leap up to the next level. Maybe Keane can get more out of him, but I wouldn't bet the team's season on it.

He's just starting his new 3 year deal so worrying about keeping Bundee is not an issue at the minute

You're probably right and I did figure he'll be 30 when the contract is up, but my concern is another down year and he might be looking for an early exit. He already felt blindsided by Pat's leaving and if he is in Ireland team plans the IRFU would be inclined to keep him happy so they might facilitate a move.

Oh, there's definitely something to it - he didn't make it up or anything. Obviously there is some possibility of it happening or he wouldn't have mentioned it.
But the article doesn't say he is leaving, just that there is some basis for thinking that he might. But the fact that no-one else reported it and there's been nothing said since suggests that it's also possible he's staying ...

To be fair Fallon would also be a journalist most would consider fairly close to Connacht.

Don't think McKenzie wrote up anything iirc. She'd be the itk (to borrow from soccer).

I mentioned it on here about 2 weeks before the article popped up. Wouldn't be too surprised if he read it here and tried to fill a page or 2.

Not much more than a rumour as far as I can see. The John Fallon article seems to be the only source, and he uses a lot of coulds and might bes.
It hasn't even been re-reported by many other sources as is often the case in these situations.

I don't get why there seems to be some doubt about Boshoff leaving, I thought it was a done deal?

I expect no KK signings. We just let go the cheapest of our signings (bar Boshoff) to make ends meet rather than to improve our team. that is my take on things

And where did you get such detailed reliable information about the Clubs finances Dobby
