Yep gone for Roux too, because he's filling a Swifty sized space very well indeed and without a functioning tight head second row we'd have no platform at all for the backs..

Players are now ringing Connacht asking to be looked at. They are players who have come through the ranks with the Henshaws,Leaders and Marmions at underage level and have seen the benefits of game time and playing at European level with Connacht.

Its a big change from seeing Connacht as a backwater and now its a seen as a place to go that will advance and enhance your international aspirations.

Courage is knowing what lies on the other side and still opening the door.

Agree with the above that 3 year deals are for exceptional circumstances.

Even though I've been critical of Carty this season getting rid of him now would be foolish, he has the right attitude, he has shown good passing skills although often too far behind the gainline. He is very young for a 10 and this is his first proper season. Any calls to jettison him now are premature.

Good news on Buckley and Leader. Didn't have any major doubts they'd sign up again but its good news all the same. Of the remaining players Dannie Poolman and Mick Kearney would be the two I'd hope we get sorted fairly quickly.

Except when a player is highly ranked, could be targeted by other provinces, and when you know you won't have a better IQ, and it's clearly the situation for Poolman
