No chance though. We can't move forwards by going back to average past players. Anyway, we need to get hookers & locks before we look anywhere else.
Any word on the Cronin/anyone else?

A very bad influence when he was here. The nightclubs and supermacs wouldn't be pleased to see him back

I have now three moments of glory here, this, and the prediction of Fa'hafili and Jason Harris Wright signing for us (before his semi final with Bristol for the latter)... You will have yours sooner or later!

Varndell was written off and as far as I know went through a period of very low confidence when he joined Wasps but now has been scoring tries for fun. If Carr can deliver some of that we'll all be very happy!

for a team at connachts stage of development thats priceless. the weaknesses in his game will be carried if he delivers tries.

Creedence wrote: I don't think Carr will be as successful as he was the first time around, but should be a useful signing all the same. Particularly if there is any connection between TOH being dropped for the Dragons game, and then playing out of his skin a week later.
He will almost certainly be every bit as successful as in his first spell. His stats at Leinster aren't that bad; he's started 69% of league games (24/35) in this stint and scored 7 tries (or .29 tries per start).
(At Connacht he started 90% of league games (52/58) and scored 22 tries or .42 tries per game.)
Given that he doesn't play quite as often, doesn't play in Europe, and is less likely to be on the end of set plays, his scoring record is pretty respectable when compared to the other Leinster backs. Also, as you'll see below, the tries are more spread out amongst the backs than at Connacht.
Granted scoring tries isn't the only criterion for judging a player, but while he's been at Leinter Madigan is the only back who has outscored him in the league (though Macken's tries per start ratio is also better).
Boss - 13 starts, 2 tries.
Reddan - 15 starts, 0 tries.
Sexton - 13 starts, 3 tries.
Madigan - 25 starts, 12 tries.
D'arcy - 16 starts, 1 try.
O'Driscoll - 9 starts, 2 tries.
McFadden - 19 starts, 5 tries.
Macken - 13 starts, 5 tries.
O'Malley - 13 starts, 1 try.
Nacewa - 23 starts, 5 tries.
Rob Kearney - 8 starts, 1 try.
Dave Kearney - 21 starts, 4 tries.
Fitzgerald - 14 starts, 2 tries.
Conway - 13 starts, 2 tries.
