I'm 100% against this.
Look at the impressive IQ list and pick one,
Keane will probably bring another lock of his own, I feel it....Alan O'Connor out of contract too.
M;Keaney
Thornbury
Nagle
J.Sexton
D.Foley (rumoured to Pau)
T.Beirne
We can also add Joe Joyce to the list, Bristol Irish U20, contract ended this summer
I've no doubt we can enlist at least one of these 7 guys to be our 5th senior lock,

There's an issue, whatever you like it or not...
transition from Pat to K.K isn't fluid for the least...

I would be happy to see Bundee leave on a very well paid contract elsewhere and our young talent developed rather than the other way around. Its what Bundee wants so let him go and lets hold on to players who will bleed by Connacht.
Could you please point out where you're getting this inside info that Bundee wants to leave, from everything I've heard he's quite happy where he is. Or are you just being melodramatic for the sake of it?

This would also allow for the possibility of using Ultan Dillane at 6 (If and only if we were to sign at least 2 big powerful locks), or even playing with two 7's (Heenan + Connolly or Heenan + Fox Matamua).
On the subject of big powerful locks, Saracens have just signed Will Skelton on a 2 year deal probably pushing Mark Flanagan closer to the exit door. I think along with Gavin Thornbury, he'd be a great signing.

Think O'Brien is a small bit lacking in mobility to be an international 8. He has serious potential at 6 though. Tackles hard, counter rucks well, lineout option, has improved as a ball carrier and shown nice hands this season.
Second rows are a serious problem position in Ireland I'd rather we didn't move Dillane to 6 long term.

We shall have to wait and see what the hierarchy is at Leinster. I thought one of Conan or Murphy would go North.
Basically we can all agree Leinster have a stupid amount of talented backrows

Eh? I do rate him - which is why I'm scratching my head as to why he doesn't move to get the gametime he should
Crossed wires here.
You don't rate him as better than those you mentioned when evidence is he starts ahead of them. If anything the three you mentioned should be looking to move on to get game time once Jordi is fit?
I think they're probably all around the same level. We don't know who'll be ahead of who, Jordi has been ahead of Conan and Leavy in the past because he's older basically. Leavy is 22 and spent about a year out with injury while in the academy. Conan is 24 and before his season has been nearly constantly injured for 2 years. We haven't seen all 3 properly fit at the same time to see who's ahead of who.
Either way, I think the young lads getting so much game time this season is a bit of a fluke, Leinster have had a lot of injury problems in the back row this year that, along with international duty, have given them a chance but I don't see it continuing. I suppose they all back themselves to get into the top 4 but IMO even with injuries some of them are going to end up playing lots of A team rugby.
To compound all that there's no sign of their production line of back rows stopping either with Deegan coming in to year 2 of the academy and more promising young players in the u20s this year.
