Not guaranteed to be an upgrade on Carty or Boshoff, but guaranteed to cost more than the pair of them put together. I expect to see him in a Sale or Northampton shirt next season.
Sale is a good shout alright. They have the cash and I think he would be better suited there over Northampton. Northampton need more of a "kick to the corner" fly-half. Sale at least try to play a bit even though they haven't been great this year. That said they got a good win on the weekend.
Also MacGinty is off to Bristol next season you would think. At least I hope he is.
Well if Madigan wants to get back into the Ireland squad, he is going to have to return home. If it means taking a pay cut then so be it.
Also, Bristol got walloped over the weekend. Pat Lam will have his work cut out for him next season.
I think the best thing for Pat would be that they do get relegated so he can get a winning culture going, a bit like London Irish.

Exactly, in a world where budgets don't exist and players don't have expectations of gametime he'd be a great signing but the money is needed elsewhere

His contract – negotiated by his agent Niall Woods of Navy Blue – keeps him at the province until the summer of 2018, so he has time to build back to where he was before injury.
That's news to me. I thought he was out of contract this season.

Glad to see both staying on.
This is very positive! good age profile so hopefully will contribute greatly as we move forward!
Good bit of business lockling in both, will certainly help with coach recruitment having a settled squad..
Cannon seems to have settled into life with Connacht very well (especially arriving mid season), and Heff probably deserves a run at 2 to see where he stands (personally think he's got unlimited potential there, if he gets enough gametime)...

EDIT: Though Cooney is fair enough seeing as he had to do a pretty tough job stepping in as a 10.
