Bazzo wrote: Ehhh, Lam doesn't trust McKeon? 10 starts and 6 sub appearances for us so far this season in a pretty competitive back row?
McKeon isn't a flashy or eye-catching loose forward but he's a workhorse and incredibly solid, if he wants to stay he's absolutely without doubt worth a contract.
I've said he's worth it yes.
And I maintain what I said. He's constantly behind SOB/Nepia for 6 behind Muldoon for 8 and behind Heenan/Connolly for 7.
All very competitive indeed, but hard for McKeon to hope regular starts, with Masterson back in addition
If Nepia leaves, he will sign for sure!

On Saturday there was a lack of clinical edge. a poor lineout which is a system error to constantly single one person wouldn't be fair IMO, terrible work rate at the breakdown which is causing turnovers and slowing down ball, both due to clear outs and the player on the ground not working enough. The team failed as a collective and to lay it on one or two players would be wrong

No one has been stopped anyone saying anything on here. Dobby (if you don't mind me saying so) has a history of slightly over stepping the mark in his criticisms. Usually has a valid point but creeps over the line.
We all have at time to time but if it becomes a habit then fair enough to be called on it.
If anyone has stopped you saying something or shouted you down then they should be equally given a warning.
I said this before if you want to change how things are run join the committee, become a mod, or volunteer.
Fair points re helping out but how on earth is a passionate opinion 'slightly overstepping the mark'? Just because its negative?
I thought most of the team were f'ing awful against the Dragons after the first 30 minutes. Have I now overstepped the mark too?!!!
I'm not trying to be a dick about things, just offering a perspective.

Now the new coach is known, and McCartney/Aki are becoming IQ, you can expect he brings at least 2 players from New-Zealand
Which means 2 guys at least will be realeased to make way in the squad
Now Masterson is confirmed signed until 2018, remain out of contract this summer, by position :
Shane Delahunt
Conor Carey
JP Cooney
Ronan Loughney
Ivan Soroka
Dominic Robertson-McCoy
Lewis Stevenson
Danny Qualter
Nepia Fox-Matamua
Eoin McKeon
Rory Moloney
Steve Crosbie
Shane O'Leary
Rory Parata
Tom Farrell
Stacey Ili
Danie Poolman
Josh Rowland
Darragh Leader
So here comes the difficult part : ordered them according to my opinion
Haven't shown enough to be kept in priority : Qualter, Loughney, Stevenson, Ili
Toss-up situation : Parata, Moloney, one of Crosbie/OLeary (the 1st one played in N-Z, could be an advantage for him)
Haven't seen enough from them to judge for now, because of injuries : Rowland, Leader, McCoy, Soroka (waiting to see how their comebacks is going)
Weren't trusted by Lam but deserves another year IMO : Poolman, McKeon
Could leave by his own choice IMO : Fox Matamua
Should absolutely be re-signed : Tom Farrell, Conor Carey, Shane Delahunt, JP Cooney
Should be promoted from the Academy year 3 : Ciaran Gaffney Conor McKeon Saba Meunargia

Devils own wrote: Are people getting warned for voicing their opinions about players being capable or not now. That attitude will kill a forum if reasonable views on players abilities can't be expressed. There is nothing offensive in my opinion in what dobby said and many of his points are valid
This is exactly why i haven't been posting in here anymore. It is policed with an overly aggressive manner, not necessarily by the mods in my experiences, but there are members in here who just do not want a single bad word said about Connacht. Ever. So when one tries to voice an opinion, it is largely cut down by someone who just can't hear criticism. Be it Carty or the CEO, or whoever......
For me, that is not what forums are about and people should be able to have fun and have a much more relaxed banter without ridicule by die hard supporters.
I suspect it plays a large part in keeping the size (and success) of this forum at where it is. It could be so much more......
Not a thing Dobby said should be a problem for anyone. But some people are so hormonal on here, it is laughable.

I am waiting for a spurious thread that links Jack Carty's family to the founding of FG/SF/FF/Communism/Trump/Nazi Party. It will also like his family to sheep stealing on the midlands and the Ivory trade. This will somehow serve as definitive PROOF as to why Jack is the worst N10 in the history of rugby. The End.
^^ this would be crossing the line I'd imagine

We could obviously do with another centre and maybe a loosehead project player (Carey looks adequate cover for finlay and o'donnell is in the background too).
I like the look of Cannon at lock and with a bit more experience Dillane is coming on too. Add in an ever improving Roux and the steady (when fit) Browne we might be OK in the second row.
Back three looks in very good shape to me.
10 looks covered if Boschoff can ever get fit and the rest of the squad looks OK too.
Hopefully with the age profile of the squad increasing year on year the players will become more robust physically and the injuries will start to diminish next season allowing us to really kick on for top 6 again.

Seriously though, I can understand trying to control abuse but I didn't see any in what dobby said and he's got an official warning? Personally I think you should revoke the warning and replace with a reminder of the rules if you feel they are being breached. We're all in the one clan though so let's keep it country.
I'm really disappointed with the comm-itt-eeee to be honest. If we want a new stadium we need to suck up to China, not Russia #makethesportsgroundgreatagain
