Fergus Mulchrone seems to be out of contract with probably relegated London Irish. 30 years old, can cover centre wing AND FB, would add some wisdom in a very young inexperienced backline.

Where are the rumors of Aki and Dillane to Munster coming from? It would be a disaster if we lost the two of them next year.

[edit] I just wrote a really defeatist post explaining what I was on about....but I'm deleting it, because today's not the day.

Suffice to say that the names of Aki and Dillane were introduced by me based on obviously wild speculation that I read elsewhere. Not based on anyone even pretending to have inside information.

6ft 8 with an excellent all round game and most importantly intelligence, maybe Carolan could have a word in ear. Will definitely be a senior player within 3 years is my prediction. He'd get gametime earlier if he came to Connacht, our 2nd row seems a bit small but he played well today also

our scrum half had a fine game.

Have seen the Heenan thing on Munster sites but the general response there has been "Sure why would he come here?".

It's not what you have, it's what you stand to lose, eh?

Heenan to Munster doesn't make sense unless tod is leaving, but foley only seems capable of signing back rows so from that perspective he makes sense as a target?

They seem to be coming from this forum.... Even during the darkest days of Bradley's reign of terror I can't remember so much pessimism.

Of course there were fewer players to worry about losing back then. Ah, the good old days.

Don't worry. Wishful thinking on behalf of our deluded Southern cousins there. Sure it's a wonder Dan Carter and Kieran Read aren't been lined up for a move to Musgrave Park too!

Wasn't he allegedly a factor in some of the negativity surrounding Pat's time in charge of the Auckland Blues?

Nothing new in this thread, merging back to the Connacht Squad thread

Checked the Grenoble forum - from what I can tell it looks like he is being lined up to replace their 2nd row James Percival, who appears to have similar stats (age, height, weight etc), but has only appeared in 7 games for them this year. Their 2nd row options look kinda old, so I'm surprised they are going with another player of that age. Percival was only on a one year contract. Who knows, this might be part of contract negotiations and stirring the pot before the Challenge cup match.

Some of their more pedantic posters are questioning his ability taking the ball into contact (i.e. not making the most of his size/weight), but think he might be a good addition in the set pieces.

In other related Grenoble news, sounds like they are letting Hart go and he will move to Racing - for all the talk of him a few years back, seems like his star has waned. And in other other news - how did we miss a steal in picking up Piri Weepu - he's playing 6th division rugby in France... (amazing what you can read on other forums).

You'll be waiting a while for anything from Connacht Rugby Management here, they'll announce it in their own time, why wouldn't they?

Think of the Facebook likes the branch would lose by giving the Clan the scoop!!

If he's gone, I certainly wouldn't announce it until I'd finished shopping for his replacement.
