Try to remain on topic folks and keep it civil.
Personal attacks on players, staff and forum users are never tolerated, by all means criticism is allowed but lets not go overboard.
If you wouldn't say it to the persons face , don't say it here.
We want to keep our moderation to a light touch, we dont be on here all the time and only pop in the same as everyone else, if you have a problem with a post drop us a PM .
Courage is knowing what lies on the other side and still opening the door.

It has gone wildly off topic and we are looking at the best way to get it opened again.

Yeah I agree, hopefully it'll be the first and last time with the increase in the qualification period.

That explains the signing of another back row
I posted that above because, you know, it's actual news about our squad, but it got lost because someone decided to reignite the pointless Jack Carty debate.

Because it feels like poaching or because local lads could miss out? Sean Masterson is our only real back row academy prospect this year and I'm sure he'll be brought in in addition to Fox.

Not much point being able to kick goals if you cannot stay fit and it has to be factored the #dreamchaser was injured for the majority of previous season before joining us also.

Are they playing the system as in he wont be taking an NIQ spot????
I dunno. But it does look that way. Like the whole point of a project player for me is someone who starts or pushes the starting 15 so they can eventually play for Ireland, this feels like he could be good in 3 years time and a year in the academy or on developmental will let us test the waters.
Well if it free up an NIQ spot in the main squad i'm all for putting him in the academy for a year and if he develops to being a decent player at leasrt you know the calibre of player then taking up an NIQ in the senior set up.

We've always recruited Leinster cast-offs to our academy due to our population challenges, we've had Exiles with strong Connacht roots (Marmion), we've had Exiles with fairly weak Irish roots (Bealham). The jump from Bealham to Fox is barely a hop to be honest, and I hope the lad does well.
If anything disturbs me about this it's where we end up if we keep re-drawing the line i.e. we're getting ever closer to the French clubs' practice of recruiting 18 year old Fijians straight from school.
The exiles is a system set up in the UK to find IQ talent I have no issue with that and Findlay is IQ through Family same as Michael Bent this feels very much like you say the Fiji and the schools vibe. Just feels off
