It'd send a terrible message to Connacht, and to the fans and players, if the IRFU forced the issue. A homegrown talent, brought up through the Connacht Academy system and developed through the Senior team, shepherded onto 'better' things by the IRFU as soon as he hits his stride. Would be disgraceful.

What I was told is that the IRFU are forcing his hand. If Connacht don't qualify for the Champions Cup it could happen quickly too.
