Its an interesting situation.

He has become a world class player at Connacht, hes happy where he is. Why risk changing it ? If he moves to another province theres no guarantee that he will fit in or that their systems will suit him which could lead to an unhappy Robbie which could lead to a loss of form.

Now if he wants to move himself then thats fine, but moving him just to get him away from Connacht (in the belief that the other provinces are better and he will improve) may be a big mistake.

If it aint broke dont fix it.

Courage is knowing what lies on the other side and still opening the door.

Be better off looking for a permanent replacement. He ain't going to be with Connacht beyond 2015-16

I'm glass half empty most of the time but god are you ever positive. We all know he probably won't be here past next season but we can't just throw in the towel that easily. Obviously no established quality player is going to join us for next season when they won't play in the big games so we have to look to unearth someone like for example McSharry who is surplus to requirements elsewhere or else Pat has to unearth a player using his contacts. With it being World Cup year and with Munster's centre options being very average it'll be tough to find anyone.

Its ensuring he stays in Ireland that's the IRFU's priority. And it won't be with us.

It's not about pessimism it's been realistic. He'll be a huge loss but we'll cope like we'e always done.

Bundee had his surgery 2 weeks after injury so the 10 weeks is probably from that date.
Sean Henry has said recently that he's due back at end of march. JHW had same injury 10 weeks later so I suspect if recovery times are similar that we won't be seeing him play again this season.

Those kind of ACL injuries have a different impact on players, depending on the surgeon technique, the individual recovery abilities etc. When a player begins to run like JHW after only 2 and a half months, there should be hopes to have him back in the end of May. And this could be immensely precious for 2 more and more probable play-off games taking place in this period

Generally for acl its return to running after 3 months (i.e. last week for jhw) and contact after 6 months. i.e end of may. Some people will recover more quickly and build up muscle faster than others but these milestones would be required as a minimum and it would only be in exceptional circumstances that an elite sportsman is allowed back earlier no matter how fast they are recovering.
Interestingly with world cup this year approx 65 IQ players are under radar of national squad medical team. Decisions re return to play need to be approved in Dublin as well. As our top IQ hooker JHW could very well be on that list.

So you're not optimistic at all for play-off matches?
Whatever happens, we can already thank Pat Lam for having targeted McCartney, who prooved to be even better than expected. Someone said he could well be man of the season, was thinking the same few days ago. But having missed 2 months before arriving is a handicap he won't overcome IMO. Matt Healy will get the deserved reward in all likelihood

Based on Leaving Cert Maths skills, Bundee should be back in action for the Munster away game.
They said he'd be out for 10 weeks after his injury, which took place on Jan 9th. Haven't heard any updates, but once we get through the Cardiff game, we have two weeks off, and should have a pretty full squad available to us.

Does anyone know how JHW and Sean Henry are coming along? I saw pictures of Harris-Wright training last week.
Would be great going into the last 5 gamer with an almost full squad. A couple of friendlies for the Eagles would be helpful too

@ConnachtCows - Always looking for new followers :)

Very confident in attack - albeit against a poor side. Delighted for him.
