According to Shaun Edwards, the Pro 12 is the reason for Wales poor performance against England.

Excuses, or does he have a point?

If the Pro12 is a poor league and the Welsh team came 5th, 7th, 8th, and 10th, what does that say about Welsh rugby.

Pure nonsense... twitter.com/search?q=%23ItsThePro12sFault&src=tyah

This is coming form nation where the league they are criticising there clubs Scarlets-63pts ; Cardiff-56pts ; Ospreys-55pts and Dragon-26pts finished 5th , 7th, 8th and 10th respectively. So what I would suggest maybe look a little closer to home before criticising the league which we all acknowledge has its flaws - he speaks about his players not being able to bring intensity to international matches due to quality of the league - well going on the results his clubs are getting and where they finished in the table they are unable to bring the intensity required to Pro 12 level also. So maybe it the players and management that are the problem.

No mention of the fact that England are actually a pretty decent team at the moment, grand slam champions and unfortunately on an upward curve

I think it's understood that that's the Pro12's fault too.

He didn't really have a go at the Pro12 at all.
He just said it wasn't the same intensity as a test match.
Wales online put their own spin on it - "pointed the finger of blame", etc.

Yep very much suits the Welsh Clubs agenda.

"It's not our fault, we really haven't mismanaged the regions since the advent of professionalism.
It's the Pro12's fault entirely... "

Of course he is having a go. There are alot of people having a go at the Pro12. The only ones who seem to be happy with the Pro12 is Connacht.

"You have to remember that the lads coming from the Pro12, and it wasn’t a great year for the tournament with no Champions Cup quarter finalists, are coming from a standard of rugby where they are used to running 55 metres per minute and in a Test match they have to run 75-80m per minute."
That's a dig..... The lads in Edinburgh must have ran 100 metres a minute. Especially in the first half.

The stat on the distance run per minute interested me. I wonder if there is any way to get an accurate stat from the final?

The fact he had that stat ready to rhyme off speaks volumes. It means they are already making excuses for themselves, and their attitude is all wrong. As others have said - if the pro 12 standard is so low then they should be contending to win the thing. I don't fancy their chances against the all blacks.
