I'd imagine Bundee has a Samoan passport and is therefore ok, not sure about the others though. Also might the non-EU restrictions be part of the reason we saw so little of guys like Fox, Deegan, and Ili this year?

Restrictions don't apply to Pacific islanders and those with passports as you say, but there are a host of other ways round this such as having a European born grandparent or having worked in Europe for 36 months or more. So we know Tom and Bundee and kosher with this rule, and therefore we only need one of the other three to have an exemption to avoid selection issues entirely.

Edit: Butler was born in Wellington so the odds against him having not one European nor Islander grandparent must be fairly large.

Didn't know about that, thanks. I'm sure it's been considered after all the talk about Leinster's issues this year.

Kyle Godwin was born in Zimbabwe and I believe is of British decent. Also as far as I know all African Nations are signed up to the Cotonou agreement so he should be fine.

Very much a prospect signing rather than a finished article, only 22 and in Tigers Development Squad with not a huge body of first team rugby behind him.
6'7 & 18st, right dimensions for a lock. Suspect contract value was major consideration..

Peter Dooley won't be joining anyway, one of 21 players to sign an extension with Leinster announced today. Goes to show you how much the branch are up against it when it's a real struggle for us to hang on to our clear cut first choice players even with equal money offers but their 4th/5th choice is happy enough to sit around getting a few caps a season.

No sign of Will Connors in the contracts. Caelan Doris is on a senior contract now.

Why should they when after they play a few games for Leinster they become fixtures in the Ireland squad?
It's effectively financial doping by the IRFU, but it's a situation they are happy to see continue so don't expect it to change any time soon

We're just not an attractive proposition at the moment unfortunately.

Connacht Rugby are delighted to announce the signing of hooker Jonny Murphy from Rotherham Titans. The 26-year-old has previously represented Ireland at Under 18, 19 and 20 levels.

Murphy is a former student of Banbridge High School and came through the Ulster Academy before making his debut for the province in the 2016/17 season.

Commenting on the signing, Connacht Defence Coach Peter Wilkins said: “We are delighted that Jonny Murphy has signed for Connacht ahead of the 2018/19 season. He is a powerful and robust forward who will provide increased options to our game.”

Following his signing, Jonny Murphy added: “I am relishing the challenge of joining Connacht and looking forward to joining the squad for pre-season training. There is huge competition at the moment for that number 2 jersey and I hope to add to that further. Connacht have a loyal community of fans and I look forward to representing them when I arrive in the Sportsground.”

If Connors is confirmed, it means 3 IQ in a row and 2 NIQ spots still available

As we only need a utility back to replace Ili (if Adam Leavy is not is not ready yet to be 2nd choice) , and a LH for Coulson (if O'Donnell is not ready yet to be 2nd choice),
I suspect the 2 NIQ are there, our last signings.

The utility back three player lined up is supposed to be starting material.
