Lots of options around town. A good few are in the Ibis Meriadeck (and the neaby Ibis Budget/Styles/Meriadeck)

We have been in touch with their supporters' club, UBB Angels, a few o whom were over for the game in October.

We are meeting them in the Connemara pub on Friday night at 8, but some will be there earlier if anyone is at a loose end.

Match Day Transport

The stadium is on the tram line.

Things to see

It's on the UNESCO World Heritage list for architecture so you should find some nice buildings. The Musée des Beaux Arts is impressive and there are loats of other museums, churches, etc.

The ground is on the tramline Route A (use that as your guide on walk out), otherwise iirc it's a good 15-20min walk from downtown. Been 11 years since I've been there, but suspect the old stadium hasn't moved. ;)

Hopefully it provides better memories than O'Sullivan's RWC 2007 near disaater against Georgia.. Bordeaux is a huge city,, but unless you're there for a longer break you'll only cover a fraction of it...

Be careful as it nearly scuppered us heading out of Perpignan back to Barcelona airport on the Saturday! Mind you, it was much bigger back in December. It's pretty much over as a protest now however and also affects roads more than tram/train as they tend to take over the roundabouts. If you're on public transport and not driving you should be ok.

There is a ten journey ticket for €13.20, which might be worth it as the stadium is on the tram line also.
Never been though, so if anyone has better advice ...

Will gilets jeune have any impact on trams or buses I wonder.. Saturdays are the big protest days..

Sorry. Ibis Meriadeck. A good few seem to be staying there (or in it's poor relation next door). 1730 on Friday. Assuming the flight goes smoothly, we should be OK to make that.
Then some of the other UBB Angels crowd want to meet us for drinks in the Connemara at 8.

UBB Angels want to organise a surprise for us when we arrive. I have no idea what it is but they want to meet us at the Ibis at 17:30 and it involves a tram journey. Apparently we'll be back in time for dinner (and pints).
Anyone who's up for it, give me a shout and I'll let them know the numbers.

Biffo explained a way around this on page 2

Yep, also 00353 on the phone number worked a treat. Not the worst ticketing site I have used
