HALF decent game here on the bbc ni. half time 8-3. vs glasgow.
there number 8 is a bull, huge and strong.
paddy jackson went of injured after 9 mins. niall o connor came on and kick a penalty from in front of the posts. then he missed 2 penalty after that well inside his range. one even inside the 22.
then ulster score a try in the corner, hard kick but that was missed.
so far NOC's strike rate 1/4
EDIT, seapoint move this from 'connacht rugby' to 'other rugby' please

Thats nick williams who used to be with munster but joinef aironi last season.
Always was a good ball carrier. Was a bit overweight when at munster but leamy wally and qunnie were there also so chances were limited.

The most impressive thing about this match is what a good game this Italian referee is having

i agree there, gave glasgow a yellow. mike mccomish had a good game when he came on early second half. ulster scored an intercept try and glasgow scored a decent try but poor defence.
NOC missed one and scored one from 15metre out. will be interesting to see what the ulster faithful have to say about him. kicking out of hand was good till 10mins to go when the score was 15-10.
kicking rate 3/7
motm robbie diack
ended 18-10

Interesting that we can see he's good now after complaining about him in the two games he reffed us last year.
Just saying...

Wasn't scrum time a lot less annoying than last season too? Good to see.

Ulster 6-3 up away to Glasgow at ht. Having to tough it out but look the better side. Could do with putting a bit more daylight between the sides early in the 2nd half.
Their main group rivals Northampton trailing 13-6 away to Castres at half time.
Ulster would be in a strong position going into the December double header against Northampton if these scores turn into results.

16-3 to Ulster, try from Chris Henry on the hour finally gives Ulster some breathing space. Against a more ruthless team than Glasgow Ulster may have paid the price this evening but this is a good win allied to the fact that Northampton trail Castres by 8 with only a few minutes left.

19-8 full time. 21-16 in France.
Table:
Ulster 2 9
Northampton 2 6
Castres 2 4
Glasgow 2 0
If Ulster can break even or better over the double header against Northampton they should make the quarter final.

I think if Ferris is back this week then they'll shift Henderson into the engine room, he's stepped up very well in the first two outings and with Muller out for eight weeks then I think Anscombe will be keen to see how he goes in the engine room..

ulster were lucky to be winning at half time, pienaar knocked on for ulsters first try. court picked up and scored. both teams were awful. knock on after knock on. ulster showed there class by scoring when they got a half chance. were were anything but good, lucky is the word, good for ireland though.
fitzpatrick went off at aabout 56 mins, bowe didnt have a good game at full back

Ulster are seriously impressing at the moment 26 points from just 6 games and the hapless Edinburgh to visit Ravenhill next Friday followed by away trips to Zebre and Treviso.
I remember around this time last year watching Ulster play particularly badly away to Dragons but they have been one of the form teams of the calendar year and Anscombe has dealt well with the weight of expectation so far. Early days yet though.

For Zebre game:
ULSTER: R Andrew; M Allen, J Payne, P Wallace, C Cochrane; N O’Connor, M Heaney; C Black, N Brady (capt), J Afoa, R Diack, N McComb, N Williams, M McComish, R Wilson.
Replacements: R Herring, T Court, D Fitzpatrick, J Simpson, A Birch, B McIlroy, S Olding, P Nelson.
Anyone else think Ulster might be caught with a sucker punch?

I think there's enough strength in that Ulster squad, and Zebre should be missing a few internationals?
