There have been rumours circulating that this one might be moved somewhere other than Parma, but as it stands it's still set for the Lanfranchi. You'd imagine if it's switched it won't go too far (there was talk of Verona), but might be an idea to allow a bit of contingency if booking flights.
The Aer Lingus flight to Verona on Thursday mightn't be a bad option even assuming it's in Parma. Ryanair to Bergamo or Aer Lingus to the Milan airports are also handy for Parma and anywhere else they might think of moving it.

Interesting. I hadn't noticed that. Stadio Zaffanella is where Aironi used to play. Very close to Parma. Maybe the Verona rumour came from someone mishearing Viadana.

In the 2017/18 season they moved a game v the Dragons down to L'Aquila also.

L'Aquila is a long way down, so maybe Verona isn't a silly idea. They were promoted last season and looks like their ground holds 2500 so could do the job.

Parma is a beautiful city, main street with bars is Str. Luigi Carlo Farini off the Piazza Garibaldi which is also really to sit in. One restaurant which is really good is Trattoria Del Tribunale on Vicolo Politi off Str. Luigi Carlo Farini (booking required).

After watching Rick Stein - don't ask for Spaghetti Bolognese in Bologna! They will not be happy, they serve tagliatelle al ragù all Bolognese!

The clubhouse in the complex is good and the locals are very friendly. Watch out for the double bar queue system in the ground - one for ordering and paying, one for collecting the merchandise!

The local beers in the clubhouse are decent enough. They may have the Leinster Benetton game on in there also.

The big challenge will be getting the Cardiff game on Friday night, though there are a few Irish pubs in Bologna so you'd have a better chance than in the Dubh Linn (or the Highlander!), though not sure the Italian rights holder ever shows the non-Italian games. Brescia v Venezia in Serie B is your competition for the remote. Second-rate football games are the curse of the armchair rugby drinker (I still haven't seen the Racing Toulouse game).
Enjoy the prosciutto and bring me back a wedge of parmegiano reggiano. I just finished off the one I bought two seasons ago.

Myself and herself were over for the 6N game in Rome and stayed in Bologna for a nice bit of the trip. I'd highly recommend picking up some salame con cinghiale if you're there. There's plenty of salumerias up around the Via Pescherie Vecchie in the old town. I'm only sorry I didn't bring more of it home! :P

Re Irish pubs in Bologna - Celtic Druid and Irish Times not showing Munster game. The Cluricaune is a possibility.
