Carcassonne flights are very expensive and the Friday one is cutting it fine at less than 4 hours to KO but you'd probably make it.
No direct flights from Girona at that time of year so Barcelona (El Prat) is probably the best option. Flights fairly cheap at the minute.
Train is about 80 minutes from Barca centre but looks pretty pricey (€75 return or so).
Flixbus is much cheaper (€9 e/w) but slower. They have some services that pick up at the airport. Ouibus run that route too. And Eurolines but they seem very expensive for what you're getting. Will investigate some other options.

I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't let you know that you can fly there directly from Marrakesh on the Thursday morning for only 269 Dirhams :-) #pinkytours

Munster are away to Castres on Saturday evening, which explains the Carcassonne flight prices. Might be worth the trip up, though Montpellier v Toulon on the Sunday would probably be better craic and easier to get to (though I'd imagine tickets would be scarce),

Flixbus from BCN airport, only seem to go after 9pm, so only of use for Thursday travelers, perhaps.
From Barcelona North bus station, it's the 13:00 to Perpignan on Friday, that's most likely to be of use, their website is pretty good.
It's about 30 to 40 minutes on a direct bus, from Airport T2 to/from the North bus station.

For the brave (Pinky?), there's early morning buses from Perpignan to Barcelona, at 04;15 and 05:25 direct to T2.

Trains aren't on sale yet, with SNCF, they only go on sale around 80 to 90 days before the date, for TGV/long distance. Easiest online booking is via the SNCF OUI website. Choose mobile tickets, you can use their app, or pre-printed out. As Pinky says, it's around 70 to 80€ return, but if you book as soon as the tickets go on sale, you should be able to get First class, for the same cost as second. You can set an alert to get notified when tickets go on sale on the SNCF OUI .

Trains go from Barcelona Sants train station which is linked to the Airport by direct train, and buses. French websites maybe use Barcelone for the city name. Train from Sants at 13:20* on Friday, return from Perpignan* at 11:17, 15:13 and 18:10 both Saturday and Sunday, arriving at 12:38, 16:34 and 19:31.* It's 40 mins by train to airport from Sants, so the later train may result in a repeat of the Stansted Chase from Jan 2017.

* this is assuming the international time table doesn't change.

For travel from other parts.
Paris Orly to Perpignan, is on-sale with Air France from 50€ each way.
TGV from Paris takes 5 hours, and will be between 55 and 70€ e/w
Overnight from Paris, to Toulouse and onto Perpignan, via Narbone, starts at 50€, up to 140€ to book entire compartment to sleep in.
Carcassone is about 1hr 30 by train, with 1 change in Narbone, 30€ e/w, no booking needed.
Beziers is just over 1hr by train, direct, around 20€ e/w, Ryanair fly from here on Saturday to Luton, at 16:40
Toulouse Airport is around 4 hrs by bus + train, about 45€ e/w, early morning flights on friday from LGW,LHR and STN. Bristol flight is too late to make connections to Perpignan. EI flight from Dublin at 7.30, is doable, but it's over 130€ already (Munster match impact?). By road, Perpignan is only 2hrs.

You could make the Munster or even Toulouse v Wasp games on Saturday, or the Montpelier game on Sunday
Clermont play Dragons on Saturday, you could head via the Millau viaduct, to Paris by road, and stop off on the way.

Also booked the same flights as above (out at 6.15am Friday and back 4.35pm Sunday) and staying in NYX hotel in Perpignan. Might just book a car as it won't be much more than the bus for two of us and a lot quicker - not booked yet but prices look reasonable enough provided they let you cross the border with it - must look into it.

I need to talk to my group first, but renting a mini bus maybe an option or someone else offer to rent it.
We did it for the Worcester game and it took 9 and worked out at 40 pounds each fuel tolls etc.
We did make a *£%$ up, the guy who booked it, took out full insurance which added another 10 each.

It may not suit, as my group maybe going to the Munster match depending on how much the accommodation is

Booked Birmingham to Barcelona Thursday to Wednesday with a rental car.

I have booked hotel De La Loge in the centre of Perpignan.

We are planning on going to the Munster game Saturday in Castre and have booked Hotel Renaissance for the Saturday night.

We are thinking about heading to Andorra for a spot of skiing on the Sunday for a few days.

I enquired if there was a package been done my Kelair travel for this trip. Seems the squad will be getting a charter flight so makes getting there independently a bit more difficult.

Going to the Sportsgrounds is a bit like Mass:You stay until the players are off the pitch and never leave early!

Anyone considering going to the Munster match in castres on the Saturday evening?
It would be nice if we could be in the same area of the stand etc

We rang the munster branch.
They do not have the tickets yet. Only offical supporters can buy direct from them
So we will have to buy from castre directly.
I will keep you posted

I watched Leinster play Castres last time we played Toulouse.
It was a very cold Friday night but there was plenty of free space and I bought straight from the Castres website.
Not much parking near the stadium and I found it easier to walk from the town.
Watch out for speed cameras in the area...... Saw it on the way there and it took a lovely picture of me in the dark on the way back to Toulouse!
