Wasn't sure where to put this so said I'd start a new topic.

I see my former school have booked their place in the Connacht senior A final for the first time. It's not that long ago we asked if we could start a rugby team and were told no because it was a GAA school. Fair play to the young fellas.

With the local club making it to the Connacht J1A final this year too it's been a good year for rugby in a fairly non traditional area.

For those wondering, the school in question is Roscommon CBS. Connacht tweeted a great video yesterday, including an interview with their very impressive captain. Lovely story.

I was wondering about the pitch. I hadn't realised there was one in Connacht. Some information at the link below. Have the Connacht lads been using it at all? If not, then it's a missed opportunity, especially considering our brutal record on them.

The pitch is only in use this year, I reffed the game yesterday and it was a cracker, some serious skill levels at schools. Its great to see new schools coming through.

If clubs want to prosper then they will have to invest time in the local schools, thats where you are going to get players of the future.

The pitch is great, clear markings, lovely to run on , not dragging your arse through muck and falling into divots. More of these pitches i say.

Credit to Creggs, cracking all weather pitch means that their grass pitch will only improve for it , a serious walking path all around their pitches and more pitches being built as well.

Big plans in place for the Rossies !

Courage is knowing what lies on the other side and still opening the door.

Some change from childhood memories of playing up a 10 degree slope in the second half and in danger of being tackled by a sheep :D

Personally I heard a different account from the sheep, but there were no TMOs in those days.
