Munster Rugby 2014-15

With the redevelopment of Musgrave Park (to be renamed Irish Independent Park upon reopening) due for completion in December, the venue will host four Guinness PRO12 encounters in the New Year.

After a €3.2m investment, Munster open their account at the revamped Cork stadium against Cardiff Blues on February 13/14/15, followed by last season's finalists Glasgow Warriors on February 27/28/March 1.

With interprovincial action against Connacht taking place in Thomond Park on 27/28/29 March, Munster return to Leeside in April and May.

Italian outfit Benetton Treviso visit Irish Independent Park on April 24/25/26, with Newport Gwent Dragons travelling to Cork on May 15/16/17 in what will be final round action for both teams in the Guinness PRO12.

4 of the last 5 games of the pro12 season will be played in cork. lucky for us, the game not being played in cork is vs connacht. i'll be on the connacht clan bus going down to limerick this year

Its amazing the sort of sensitive information that gets sent around by email from time to time in a blasé fashion. Something like this, which I assume was intended for coaching staff only, would be better off written on paper and handed out at a meeting then shredded, if it had to be put on paper at all. The article claims everyone put it behind them but there's about 40 people been criticized there, there will be at least one or two who won't be ok with this and if they are mistreated in future they might think about leaking information.

They may say it's all behind them now but the minute Munster hit a rough patch you'd wonder how well Foley will be able to control the team with this sitting just below the surface. It would be a shame if he doesn't get a fair trial in the position, the game could do with a few more Irish coaches. Let me be the first to float the conspiracy theory that EOS had a hand in this.

Former connacht acadamy hooker kevin o byrne makes his munster debut tomorrow night at TP v edinburgh.

I was merely stating that he makes his competitive debut tomorrow night. Hes on a 4 mth training contract afaik but hes picked ahead of duncan casey ( who i rate no2 behind sherry) and slattery who played a few times last season.

Poor display from Munster tonight, nearly stole it at the end but wouldn't have deserved it. In terms of the player who had the comment 'how is he in the squad' beside his name in the infamous spreadsheet, it has to be Duncan Williams, can't really understand how Cathal Sheridan hasn't got more of a run there.

I didn't think we missed out on much in O'Byrne and he wasn't particularly good this evening, taken off after about 45 minutes.

Edinburgh were well up for this, usually they cave in pretty quickly in these type of fixtures as it doesn't really matter to them but with the changes in qualification they have to show up for every game from now on. They fronted up at scrum time from the off and Munster never got in to their stride.

Munster will improve as the season progresses and have a number of players to come back but these type of fixtures won't be the 5 pointer cakewalks they once were.

Sounds like Keatley was off with the boots tonight. You can't expect to win when you're giving up 8 points when up a man.

Edinburgh very much the better team. Very few handling errors. Good scrum. Ulster man Andress dominant in front row. Was impressed with Andrew Smith at 12 for Munster . Recently arrived from brumbies but has made the transition to northern hemisphere better than most. Connacht will have their work cut out next weekend in murrayfield. Only "positive" was that Visser went off with an ankle injury and must be a major doubt.

Not good enough by Keatley though ! Really think he should be pushing on and he does not seem to be.
