All very positive, with Munster and Ulster to come at the Sportsground I think we could push the average a bit higher. Important we keep the fans coming through the gates for the Edinburgh and Aironi games, two winnable games against teams around us in the table. Lets get at least 3400-3500 at every game this season. Who would have said that last April?

Major plus was season ticket sales. 3200 is a big number for Connacht but its going to be tough to keep that number. Heineken Cup rugby could be the decisive factor but either way I think we've got a lot of new supporters willing to stick with the team as long as the Connacht Branch don't go messing with prices. Absolutely essential the price is left the same, its great value and makes rugby affordable to a huge number of people.

shocking to see on papper that more people went to the gloucester game in the heineken cup this year than went to all 3 matchs we had in the amlin cup 5114 vs 4277

Agree with lads that attendances have been very positive this season. Thks swifty for putting this post together.

From conversations i have had with some fellow "new" fans almost all have been positive about renewing for next season and HEC rugby doesnt seem to be a necessity for them to do that. They like everyone else would like to see Hec rugby next year but issues they would like to see addressed(while not a neccessity to renew) things like more toilet facilities, barriers removed/changed in clan terrace etc. The big ones though are pricing for next season and (biggest of all)new signings. Whites announcement will be a big help but the real deal maker will be the signing of a quality goalkicker be it Parks or anyone else.
I suppose winning rugby is easier to sell.

To be frank as long as we make it a good day out for people and child friendly we'll retain alot of the new fans. But the Board ought to pay attention to the small things like the toilets and barriers etc. Keeping it affordable in this economic climate is a must.

Great to see attendance up. I knew with the increase in season tickets they had a leg up over last season, but was afraid the run of losses might begin to counter that. Was glad to see over 4,000 for the Glasgow game. It will say something if Bradley's Edinburgh can match that number on a 6 Nations weekend.

The only way the branch should consider even a modest price increase is if Connacht find themselves back in the HEC and in another good pool, Otherwise business as usual.

From the survey I did through respondents mainly from this site a while back the main issues identified were indeed things like the lack of toilets, car parking facilities, exit from the clan stand, messy pathways etc. A lot of the hard work has been done, its small enough things like that which need to be improved to make life easy for the supporters. There were other areas but its small thing mainly that won't take the mammoth effort that was required in getting ready for this season.

I think they'd be foolish to touch the prices at all, they can charge more for extras and food and drink, programmes etc. when inside and recoup money in whatever way necessary but keep the supporters coming through the gates even if its only marginally beneficial in the short term.

we were only short of just over 400 people to triple the crowd we had last season. season tickets help and if we manage good games vs munster (win) ulster (draw) and realisic a bonus point win in our last home game we should see healthy numbers again

out of curiousity swifty why do u go for a win against munster and only a draw against ulster? their away form is crap. id go 10 pts from the three games, 5 from aironi, and will win one interpro and get bonus in other. could win both if their selections go in connachts favour.

I can guess a reason why he would pick that. We usually up our game against Munster and Leinster in the sportsground, even beating them, we seem to have a mental block against Ulster year after year. In any season we had a shot of catching them, they came out on top in this fixture to rubbish our hopes.

I sent it on to them GTTC, still awaiting a response which in fairness is unusual as they usually are good in responding, maybe they're just too busy to read through it!

Either way the results are available on the other thread and may be something the Clan Committee could bring to their attention at a meeting. In fairness I'd imagine they see most of the issues themselves and they will be rectified in time for next season.

thanks for that swifty.

I see that they have raised the price for the Munster game from 20 euro to 25 euro. Do they normally do that for Munster games? im pretty sure i got in for 20 against leinster.

Sorry editing here, got a free ticket for leinster game so dont know what cost was?
