De Buitlear (first league start) and Horwitz (first start) in the XV. TOH very lucky to keep his place. Farrell moved in to 12 which probably reflects a poor defensive showing last weekend. Copeland and Adeolokun the notable omissions from the 23. 6 starters and 7 of the bench are academy graduates.
Dragons
Dragons (v Connacht Rugby): Jordan Williams, Dafydd Howells, Hallam Amos, Jarryd Sage, Will Talbot-Davies, Jason Tovey, Rhodri Williams; Brok Harris, Richard Hibbard (c), Lloyd Fairbrother, Joe Davies, Lewis Evans, Harrison Keddie, Nic Cudd, Taine Basham
Replacements: Rhys Lawrence, Aaron Jarvis, Dan Suter, James Thomas, Huw Taylor, Tavis Knoyle, Jack Dixon, Adam Warren

Dragons selection not as raw as we might have hoped, but hopefully the fact that in contrast to our due of newbie backs their very inexperienced players (Davies, Keddie, Basham) are in the pack.

From my admittedly dodgy memory Tovey always seems to play very well against us

Tiernan O’Halloran should be dropped his attitude is a disgrace.

TOH can consider himself very lucky indeed to survive last week's 'mare. I assume Scholes and Leader are still injured? I see Niyi has paid the price for his very poor performance. Great to see Horwitz making his debut and we could really do with it being a memorable one. In the pack, is Paul Boyle injured?

According to Friend on the Craggy Podcast, Boyle is out for this weekend but they hope to have him back for SA, same goes for Masterson. McKeon had surgery on his shoulder this week and is out for at least three months. No mention of anyone else.

How have you come to this conclusion? Have you never performed poorly at what you do? What do you know about his attitude? Things happen in people's lives that affect their performances!

Just listened to Friend's interview during the week. Doesn't seem to impressed with the refereeing around the tackle/breakdown and thinks it's causing problems with the attack. Haven't noticed anything new there myself recently, is this just a difference between southern and northern hemisphere reffing?

There seems to be a lot of latitude for the defending team at the breakdown everywhere but England, where it's policed to the extent that some commentators think it's hampering their ability to compete at HEC/international level (of course, they may just be looking for an excuse). So whether the breakdown is policed correctly might be up for debate, but I'm fairly sure that it's reffed pretty much identically in the Pro14, France, and the southern hemisphere.
Besides, an Australian complaining about killing opposition ball at the ruck is like an Irish person whinging about garryowens... you invented it, man.

Did you hear friend speaking in the interview about individuals pre match prep not where it should be.... seemed to be giving a dig at certain individuals thought it was a strange comment or maybe I interpreted it incorrectly.

Hadn't noticed that part to be honest. Was it just a throwaway comment or did he go into any more detail?

To me and this is totally personal ...it definitely was not throwaway and was intentionally placed while answering the question ... again it is totally down to ones interpretation, none of the craggy crew flagged it either on the podcast.

I noticed it too, and got the same impression. In general I thought he gave an excellent interview. How often do you hear a head coach admitting to the possibility of his team being complacent? I'm hopeful for a backlash from our lads tomorrow.sligsup wrote:

Important that the Ospreys get nothing out of their game with Glasgow tonight, and it's 29-13 to Glasgow at half time.
