Ooooh, that terrace is completely uncovered. Nasty.

That's how it looks to me. I guess, similar to the existing Dogs stand, you would have some shelter if it's blowing from directly behind. I think even if they extended that roof over the terrace it would be too high up to do much though.

Thanks folks! Looks good, about double the terrace on the dogs side by the look of things, though things could get a bit chilly on the clan terrace on a wild night. Unfortunate, but you're gonna get that with pretty much any option - hard to keep a terrace sheltered unless it's got a roof directly over it à la the existing Clan, but that's not compatible with a big stand behind it.

With the normal winds at the Sportground, it looks like it could be wet even on the lower seated area on the Clan side as roof is very high.

Great pics. Looks like I'll be upgrading to a seat. Handy for applauding a try while I have a pint

I can't really see the point in building this as shown in the drawings. it would be a downgrade on the current clan terrace for those that want to remain standing. Sure they might be able to get a pint and burger quicker but they will eating and drinking them in the rain.
I think we need an email campaign to make the branch aware of this concern.

It is simple, you build the stand above the terrace as per the original plans 4/5 years ago.

If only there was a Public Consultation to voice your concern
Seriously though, I agree that it looks bad that the terrace section will be open to the elements. It would encourage me to move to a seat, which might be their aim.
I'm sure the seats will be more expensive than the terraces

But then, it looks like the closest seats are as far back as the back of the Clan is now. It could all get a far-away feel.
If it were up to me, I would get rid of that open terrace; move the actual stand forward and down ; and sacrifice some seats (1/4)? to put the standing area beside the seats, in the stand.
That's based on an assumption that you could get a lot of standing people in for not very many seats, which may well be nonsense!
Pity I didn't think of this on Tuesday so an actual architect could have told me why it would never work...

Thinking could also be that there's a full terraced stand on the far side. Plenty of space for people who want to stand and be covered.

True. I was thinking that might also be an argument for getting rid of the terrace on the new stand altogether and bringing the seats closer to the pitch. I guess that would reduce capacity too much though.

Bear in mind they are drawings rather than actual plans/specifications, what gets submitted will.no doubt be slightly different and in way more detail to early indications based on feedback...

There's a feedback email address in the emails they sent out after the announcement, so not too late to send in additional feedback....
