The Irish independent (Brendan fanning) say KK is leaving Connacht. It doesn’t look like it’s his choice based on the language in the piece

What the f....?

Bizzare if it's true. It has been a very bad season but I don't think anybody has been calling for his head. We're pretty much boned looking for a head coach at this time of year too...

Very odd decision if it turns out to be true. Been a tough season but felt he should get a full 2 years before being judged with his own players and a proper pre-season to sort it out.

Could be a personal decision to go back home. We can only wait and see I guess

His comments after the game about doing a full evaluation this summer and the language of that article make it look an awful lot like a sacking to me. I'd be annoyed he wasn't given the full 2 years to be honest unless there's back room stuff ongoing we don't know about.

He didn't sound like a guy who knew he was heading for the door in any interviews after the game on Saturday.

He lost some gimme games and had no real defensive strategy but another season wouldn't have done any harm and he might've made a big difference with the new signings.

Although we had some piss poor results I would expect him to be giving 2 yrs wonder if the back room team are out the gap with him

Real headscratcher. We wait til exactly three milliseconds after McFarland goes elsewhere and then fire Keane.

There are 3 possibilities (1) we have a belter of a replacement lined up, (2) those above Keane weren't keen on what would come out of the review (3) we're in Wendyball territory and changing coach because we don't know what else to do

Spoiler alert - it's not (1)

Unless they have someone lined up, next season won't be great - last two seasons were poor, a lot of which was put down to real/any pre-season. Without someone ready to step in right away, we'll be in the same position again.

Jonno Gibbs would give his right bollock to be offered the Connacht job 12 months on from when he turned it down

I'm surprised, thought he'd have two seasons to change it round.
To be honest the longer the season went the worse we got ( apart from the last game and to be honest a lot of factors had a bearing on that game).
Players body language for many of the games wasn't good and many mentioned it on various threads.
If it was that obvious to us, who knows what was going on.
Team selections seemed a little erratic at time imo, lot of changes from game to game.
We don't know what was going on, but they obviously didn't believe it could improve next season, and didn't waste another season in free fall.
I would hope they have a replacement lined up, the decision to jettison Keane would have surely been taken at least several weeks ago, giving them time to put a replacement plan in motion (I hope!)

Maybe they're lining up Lancaster (with Carberry coming on loan, and Connacht becoming a feeder club for Leinster), or maybe Mul isn't off to Bristol at all!

Youd assume there is more to this story but my initial gut reaction is it feels like a very stupid move by Connacht Rugby

I'm very surprised KK's going, but in reality this needed doing. This has been a dreadful season and the line in Fanning's report about the powers-that-be being underwhelmed by results given the low injury rate and loss of players to Irish squads is in my view instructive. Let's face it, the form of players like Denis B, Tom McC, Finlay B, TOH, and others has fallen off this season and we just can't afford another season like the one just gone. FFS we lost to Zebre twice.
Meanwhile onwards and upwards - I would imagine we have a replacement lined up. It's just a pity Dan McFarland has been picked up by the Nordies

Certainly won't have seen it coming based on this interview.... Seems a bit reactionary and that's never good. What's the plan Willie???

Willie's plan is to stick the Stade Marcel Michelin on a barge in Lough Atalia. Simples!

How can i put this the simple answer is he had lost the dressing room to many run ins with players.
This was decided before Saturday as was shown on the field by the players.
Even after the match on Sat talk was of arguments in camp coming close to fisticuffs.
To be honest I'm relieved as what worried me after sat such a great performance it showed players have the ability and proved when it came to their true leader they played how we know they can play and proved they didn't want to play for KK.
I wouldn't be surprised if talks have already taken place they won't hang around.
I hope it's not a reason some players are moving on.
